In a little over one week from now, the internationally lauded ‘PayPal 14′ are due in San Francisco Federal Court (450 Golden Gate Avenue) on Monday, May 13th, 2013 and Anonymous is calling for a rally all day beginning at 9:30am (may go as late as 5pm) to support the heroes who allegedly dared to act against the gross media censorship by e-Bay’s subsidiary PayPal after terminating its donation processing service for Wikileaks when nation-states began targeting them for revealing international war crimes and crimes against humanity from the Bush-era of the “War on Terror.”


The defendants were arrested in July of 2011 after PayPal reportedly suffered 3.5 million pounds in damages in 2010 due to a cyber-sit-in or DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack on their website. The incident was allegedly a response to the online giant’s unprecedented decision to cut off journalists Julian Assange and Wikileaks from revenue and legal defense funds.

Though the Federal Gov’t has been calling Julian Assange a terrorist and finally beginning to try Bradley Manning for espionage charges after 1000 days in cruel confinement, the public by and large considers the Bradley Manning/Wikileaks leak, including Collateral Murder, to be an act of whistleblowing and journalism on crimes against humanity. Similarly, the European Human Rights Court recently found the CIA guilty of torturing and sodomizing German Citizen Mr. el-Masri after subjecting him to illegal extraordinary rendition in a case of mistaken identity.

#MMJ advocates vow to reopen 'Princeton of Pot' after raid - #SF

Medical marijuana advocates on Tuesday vowed to reopen a San Francisco-area college devoted to cannabis cultivation and known as the “Princeton of Pot” a day after federal agents shut down the school in a raid.

Hundreds of protesters rallied in front of San Francisco’s City Hall, some on crutches and in wheelchairs and smoking hand-rolled joints. The demonstrators carried signs that said, “Cannabis is medicine; let states regulate” and chanting “Feds off my meds.”

Monday’s raid on Oaksterdam University, which offers courses on growing and dispensing of marijuana, turned the Oakland-based school into the latest flashpoint between federal law enforcement and medical cannabis advocates in states where pot has been decriminalized for medicinal purposes.

Federal authorities also searched the home of veteranmedical marijuana activist and Oaksterdam founder Richard Lee, as well as a nearby medical marijuana dispensary he runs.

Lee, confined to a wheelchair by a spinal injury, was a leading proponent behind a failed California ballot initiative in 2010 that would have legalized possession and cultivation of small amounts of marijuana in the state for recreational use.

“In a wheelchair, he’s a threat,” Wayne Justmann, an adviser for medical pot supply shops, said facetiously as he spoke to Reuters at the rally. “He’s a guy who’s helped so many people.”

Rather than targeting Lee, Justmann added, “Go after that guy who killed seven and injured three.” He was referring to the former student of a private, Christian college who killed seven people and wounded three others in a shooting rampage on Monday.

Lee himself said he worried that he might be prosecuted.

“They can indict me any day,” he said, recounting how he was awakened by federal agents armed with assault rifles appearing at his Oakland apartment with a search warrant. “They can arrest me any day.” Agents briefly detained but did not arrest Lee.

The school was closed after agents searched it, but it will reopen Wednesday, Lee’s lawyer, Laurence Jeffrey Lichter said.

Although marijuana remains classified as an illegal narcotic under federal law, 16 states and the District of Columbia have enacted some sort of legalized medical-cannabis statutes, according to the Drug Policy Alliance.

In those states, including California, the U.S. government has sought in recent months to shut down storefront dispensaries and greenhouses deemed by federal investigators to be drug-trafficking fronts, as well as those that are located close to schools and parks.

The Obama administration has said it would not single out individual patients who possess or grow their own marijuana in states with medical pot statutes. But federal prosecutors have warned they will continue to go after operations that support for-profit, illegal drug dealing under the guise of medical pot.

Federal action has led to dozens of medical marijuana dispensaries being shut down in California, but so far no one has been charged with criminal activity in connection with the crackdown, Lichter said.

Oaksterdam, widely referred to as the “Harvard of Hemp” and the “Princeton of Pot,” opened in 2007 and bills itself as the first cannabis college in the United States.

“Two universities were struck yesterday,” said Dale Sky Jones, executive director of Oaksterdam, referring to Monday’s raid on her school at the same time a gunman opened fire at the nearby Oikos University. “Federal resources are wasted on failed policy while our cities beg for help with gun violence.”

#SF Mayor: Medical Marijuana A 'Nuisance' Like Strip Clubs - #MSM #Propaganja

Nobody in the office of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee seems willing to take responsibility for a city document which refers to medical marijuana dispensaries as “nuisance retail” and likens them to strip clubs and liquor stores.

That’s the terminology used in a document released last year by the Mayor’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development, and that document is now being used by the Planning Department as a reason to deny a permit to a medicinal cannabis collective proposed for a vacant building in an alley off Sixth Street, reports Chris Roberts at SF Weekly.
It’s unclear how and why the “nuisance” reference ended up in that official city document. “For now, nobody at City Hall appears willing to own up to calling pot clubs nuisances or comparing them to strip clubs,” writes Roberts.

The Mayor’s spokeswoman, Christine Falvey, directed the SF Weekly to the Department of Public Health. But DPH took exception to the notion that it would call medical facilities which it licenses a “nuisance.”
“We would not use that kind of judgmental language,” said DPH spokeswoman Eileen Shields, who referred the Weekly back to — you guessed it — the Mayor’s office. “At a risk of being a nuisance ourselves, SF Weekly emailed Falvey again, who did not respond,” Roberts said.
The good news, according to Roberts, is that licensed dispensaries are only considered “nuisances” near Market Street between Fifth and 10th streets, at least according to the Central Market Economic Strategy, released last November after 10 months of preparation.
The bad news is that the collectives — which provide cannabis to patients including those with cancer, HIV/AIDS, and debilitating pain — are put into the same category as “liquor stores, adult uses,” and “pawn shops.”
The sole basis for declaring dispensaries a “nuisance” appears on one line on page 35 of the 52-page report, in section D under the heading “Objective 6) Improve Safety.”
“There’s a vague reference to a need to reduce crime, but no statistics or definition of a ‘nuisance’ is given, and the notion that pot clubs equal crime has been exploded time and time again,” Roberts writes.
The applicant for the rejected dispensary, which would have been located at 471 Jessie Street, is one Troy Kashanipour, according to city records. Kashanipour, an architect, is represented by attorney Daniel Bornstein, who’s worked for other cannabis clients including Medithrive, one of the five dispensaries shut down since November by U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag.
San Francisco currently has 22 city-licensed medical marijuana dispensaries, down from 26 last year and 40-something in 2005, before the city passed its Medical Cannabis Act regulatory ordinance.

(04-02) 08:13 PDT OAKLAND — Federal agents swooped in Monday morning to search Oakland’s Oaksterdam University in Oakland, the state’s first cannabis industry training school.

Agents with the U.S. Marshals Service, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Internal Revenue Service’s criminal investigation division are searching the university at the corner of 16th Street and Broadway, in the heart of the city’s widely recognized downtown cannabis-oriented district, authorities said.

The university has been cordoned off by yellow caution tape.

Arlette Lee, an IRS spokeswoman, said she could not say why the agents were there other than to confirm that they were serving a federal search warrant.

“Everything’s under seal,” Lee said, referring to the search warrant and documents relating to the investigation. “We’re not able to comment as far as the nature of this ongoing investigation.”

The federal agencies are conducting a joint investigation, she said.

The raid comes fewer than three weeks after Oakland city officials issued preliminary approvals for four new medical marijuana dispensaries, even as federal prosecutors exerted increased pressure on medical cannabis dispensaries, forcing hundreds to close.

Federal officials say they are concerned about dispensaries that are getting too big or too close to parks or schools. They have long asserted that federal law trumps the state’s 1996 voter-approved law legalizing medical cannabis.
