cc: #SeaShepherd ~ Japanese Island of Toshima makes Dolphins official Citizens

On a small island 100 miles from Tokyo islanders, mostly fishermen, have declared resident dolphins to be citizens, fully protected while in the island’s waters

On Sept. 1st of this year the annual dolphin slaughter will take place in Taiji Cove, Japan. Japan is a nation where up to 20,000 dolphins are killed yearly. So a new development recently in Japan is wonderful news in stark contrast as to what usually goes on in Japan. On a small island 100 miles from Tokyo islanders, mostly fishermen, have declared resident dolphins to be citizens, fully protected while in the island’s waters.

This tiny island is called Toshima Island. The fishermen there want to show the world how some Japanese revere and protect wild dolphins. A long time Japanese ally, Elsa Nature Conservancy, has pledged to help the Toshima Islanders educate Japan about the wonders of wild dolphins.

The Toshima Dolphin Project as it is known will expand knowledge of this unique island and the relationship between the people of the island and its 16 resident dolphins. The project will provide a vision that will inspire their fellow countrymen and bring to them an understanding of the importance of allowing dolphins to remain free and safe from hunters’ blades.

This is a description of the Toshima Dolphin Project written by Sakae Hemmi of Elsa Nature Conservancy. “In 1995 a dolphin came to Toshima waters and remained. In 1998 the dolphin, named Koko, gave birth. The baby was called Piko. The mother and baby were so revered that they were registered as citizens of the island. Around 2010 several dolphins from Mikura island moved to Toshima and several have given birth. As of February 2012, a pod of 16 dolphins swims in the waters of Toshima.”

The Dolphin Project was originally spearheaded by a Mr.Moriyama. Unfortunately the Mr. Moriyama, died in February of this year. But others have picked up the cause because they feel so strongly that this message must get out. Currently funds are urgently needed to finish the project website, send a video team to the island to film the dolphins and fishermen and to make a DVD for release in Japan. They also plan to hold a symposium in Tokyo on dolphins in Japanese waters.

But the main message that The Toshima Dolphin Project wants to portray was expressed by Sakae Hemmi as: “I think it important to have many people learn and experience that wild dolphins are animals that we can make friends with and live together. Toshima is a very important place to raise the Japanese people’s consciousness to protect wild dolphins.”

Hopefully with the efforts of these wonderful fishermen from Toshima Island there may soon come a day when all dolphins can live off the Japanese coast without threat of dying in such a cruel manner as currently takes place in Taiji Cove.

The U.S. War Department’s Archival Footage of the Bombing of Hiroshima

Today in 1945, the U.S. dropped an atom bomb on Hiroshima. The 1946 film, A Tale of Two Cities, documents the devastation to the city but avoids showing the human cost of the attacks.

Tons Of Radioactive #Fukushima Water Spills Into #Pacific Ocean ~ #MSM

(HigginsBlog) – TEPCO believes they have accidentally spilled 12 tons of radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant has spilled into the Pacific Ocean.

Just weeks ago I reported the plume of radioactive water the TEPCO purposefully dumped into the Pacific Ocean after being strongly urged to do s by the US government was now hitting Hawaii.

While the devastation from that release has been catastrophic enough even more radiation will follow as TEPCO now admits they have been leaking highly radioactive water directly into the Pacific ocean.

Ocean Radiation Plume Hits Hawaii From Fukushima Nuclear Meltdown

Fukushima Ocean Radiation Hits Hawaii

The latest marine impact simulation shows the radioactive plume of ocean radiation from the Fukushima nuclear meltdown has now hit Hawaii

The latest marine radiation plume simulation from ASR LTD shows that the radioactive contamination from the Fukushima nuclear meltdown has now reached norther Hawaii.

This should be no surprise, since it was originally disclosed shortly after the disaster that the plume would reach Hawaii within about 1 year and California in 2 to 3 years when the government decided not to test fish at that time.

Please note this simulation, as explained below, shows only the extent of where the particles in radioactive plume have traveled.

It does not attempt to estimate the dilution of the radiation since such estimates are currently impossible due to refusal by TEPCO and the government of Japan to release critical scientific data required to calculate the concentration of the plume.

Also note that the simulation only takes into account the million gallons of radioactive water TEPCO purposefully dumped into the ocean.

That water was later found to have been 7.5 million times the legal limit and the dumping was done after TEPCO was were “Stongly urged to do so by the US government.

TEPCO is says they believe a newly discovered leak in their decontamination system is responsible leaking of additional 12 tons of highly radioactive water directly into the ocean.

RT – Officials at the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), which acts as the operator of the crippled nuclear facility, say there is reason to believe some of the 12 tons of radioactive water has flowed into the Pacific Ocean.

A leak was found in a pipe attached to a temporary decontamination system. The water, once it has been used to cool the reactors, contains massive amounts of radioactive substances and is put into the water-processing facility so it can be recycled for use as a coolant.

“Our officials confirmed that cooling water leaked at a joint in the pipes,” a TEPCO spokesman told reporters, adding that “it is possible that some of the water may have flowed outside the facility and poured into the ocean.”

This accident is the latest of several leaks of radioactive water at the plant, undermining the government’s claim that the shuttered reactors were now under control.

Just last month, about 120 tons of radioactive water leaked at the plant’s water decontamination system and about 80 liters (21 gallons) seeped into the ocean, according to TEPCO.

The plant, which is just north-east of Tokyo, was crippled by meltdowns and explosions caused by Japan’s massive earthquake and tsunami in March last year.

Rival emperor stakes claim to Japanese throne, shows evidence he is the real deal

Is this the real Emperor of Japan?

0-1
Naoshi Onodera holding what he claims is an 8000 year old Sumerian object, the Japanese imperial “Jewel.”
Naoshi Onodera claims he is the legal and rightful emperor of Japan and that Emperor Akihito is descended from a group of illegitimate pretenders who were put up as puppet rulers by foreign cabalists who use the Satanic star as their symbol. He says the sitting emperor is using fake replicas of the three ancient imperial treasures used to justify his position on the throne. These items are known as the jewel, the sword and the mirror and are said to be the oldest inherited items on earth. The real ones are in his possession and he is willing to have scholars and legal experts verify this and other evidence, Onodera says. This is an extremely important claim because it is intimately connected to the start-up of the new financial system and the possibility of fundamental regime change in Japan.

Fukushima Fallout 26 Times That Of Hiroshima So far. Tokyo University Radioisotope Professor (by leakspinner)

PLEASE READ THIS ;
Professor Tatsuhiko Kodama is the head of the Radioisotope Center at the University of Tokyo. On July 27, he appeared as a witness to give testimony to the Committee on Welfare and Labor in Japan’s Lower House in the Diet.
Remember Professor Kosako, also from the University of Tokyo, who resigned in protest as special advisor to the prime minister over the 20 millisievert/year radiation limit for school children? There are more gutsy researchers at Todai (Tokyo University) - the supreme school for the “establishment” - than I thought. Professor Kodama literally shouted at the politicians in the committee, “What the hell are you doing?” He was of course referring to the pathetic response by the national government in dealing with the nuclear crisis, particularly when it comes to protecting children.
(The original video that was embedded in this post was removed at Youtube. Too many views for TPTB, maybe. It was approaching 300K views. This one is missing the first few minutes, and starts when he talks about 5 microsieverts/hour in Tokai-mura.) Aside from his anger, he also gave some very interesting and disturbing information, which I try to summarize below:
He starts out with the radiation fallout in Tokyo:
“We detected 5 microsieverts/hour radiation in Tokai-mura in Ibaraki Prefecture about 9AM on March 15, and notified the Ministry of Education and Science as the “Article 10 notification” [as specified in the Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures Law]. Later, the radiation exceeding 0.5 microsievert/hour was detected in Tokyo. Then on March 22 it rained in Tokyo, and with the rain came 0.2 microsievert/hour radiation, and this I believe is the reason for the elevated radiation level to this day. “Chief Cabinet Secretary Edano said at that time, “There is no immediate effect on health”. I actually thought this was going to be a big, big problem.”

It was indeed in the news that 5 microsieverts/hour radiation was detected at Tokai-mura in Ibaraki Prefecture on March 15 morning, but hardly anyone, other than nuclear experts like him, connected that news with the elevated radiation level in Tokyo. The residents of Tokyo didn’t even know about it. What happened in the morning of March 15? Well, Reactor 4 at Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant had a “big noise” which blew out the roof at 6AM, and Reactor 2 had an explosion in the Suppression Pool at 6:14AM. Or it could be from the Reactor 3 explosion in the previous day, at 11:01AM on March 14 The professor goes on to explain his concern at that time: “Why was I concerned? Because the current radiation injury prevention method is based on dealing with a small amount of radioactive materials that emit very high radiation. In this case, the total amount of radioactive materials is not much of an issue. What matters is how high the radiation is. “However, in the case of the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant accident, 5 microsieverts within 100-kilometer radius [he is referring to Tokai-mura], 0.5 microsievert within 200-kilometer radius [referring to Tokyo area], and the radiation extended far beyond, even to teas in Ashigara and Shizuoka, as everybody now knows.”

So, instead of a small amount of highly radioactive materials in a confined area, what we have is a huge amount of radioactive materials spread wide.
He continues: “When we research the radiation injury/sickness, we look at the total amount of radioactive materials. But there is no definite report from TEPCO or the Japanese government as to exactly how much radioactive materials have been released from Fukushima. “So, using our knowledge base at the Radioisotope Center, we calculated. Based on the thermal output, it is 29.6 times the amount released by the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima. In uranium equivalent, it is 20 Hiroshima bombs. “What is more frightening is that whereas the radiation from a nuclear bomb will decrease to one-thousandth in one year, the radiation from a nuclear power plant will only decrease to one-tenth.
